Guidelines for selecting the appropriate ventilation fan for each room type

Currently, ventilation fans are devices that are widely used in human life. However, choosing a fan suitable for the needs of the family use is something not everyone knows. Therefore, the following article will give a few guidelines to help users choose the right size of ventilation equipment.

1. A table with instructions for selecting the best ventilation fan for each room type

The following technical data sheet is a detailed summary of all Mitsubishi Electric exhaust fan models classified by area and amount of air needed to change the room for customers to choose from.

The amount of air has been calculated according to the air change ratio standard prescribed by The Society of Heating, Air-Conditioning and Sanitary Engineers of Japan.

2. Look up the required air change per hour (times/H)

3. Calculating ventilation and selecting a ventilation fan

Standard value: Calculated by how many times the air flows in and out in an hour. The entire amount of air in the room can be circulated well when reaching the typical value through the test. The standard value can be set as follows:

Size of a typical room:

  • The floor area is 16 (m2), the height is 2.7 (m), and the volume is 16 x 2.7 = 43.2 m3.

The required air change is six times an hour if it is an office.

  • The amount of ventilation is calculated as: 6 x 43.2 = 259.2 m3/h.
